How Do You Change The Belt On An Oreck Vacuum Cleaner?

0

One of the things that will keep a vacuum from picking up dirt as expected is a worn belt. Here is how to change the belt on your Oreck vacuum cleaner. Unplug the cord from the electrical outlet. Look on the side of the vacuum’s power head and remove the screw. Use a flathead screwdriver (or similar object) and lift the door so you can slide it forward. Remove the installed belt. Loop the new belt over the motor shaft ensuring one end is on the brush roll pulley. Rotate the brush 3 or 4 times to check the fit. You do not want any of the belt overhanging or loose fitting. Replace the door and the two screws. Tighten the screws and your vacuum should be ready for use.
