Changing an air filter on a dirt bike is very important to maintain a healthy engine. The purpose of an air filter is to keep unwanted particles from entering the engine that will cause damage to the engine’s moving parts. Locate the air filter cover on the dirt bike. It is located under the seat or under the side panel. Remove the cover to the air filter with the correct socket or wrench and remove the old air filter. Separate the plastic cage from air filter, being careful not to break the cage or tear the air filter. Wipe the air box clean of debris and grease with a clean rag. Apply new air filter oil to the new filter, by pouring it on and then gently kneading it through the filter with your fingers. Continue to do this until every spot of the filter is covered with oil; this will keep small particles of dirt from passing through the filter. Place small amounts of water-proof grease around the outside of the filter prior to installation. This allows the filter to seal properly to
