Make sure there is no extra stuff hanging around the pool filter area that could get in your way during the change-out process. Put away all drain hoses, chemical containers, and pool toys, or at least move them out of the way. Determine how many bags of sand you will need to buy. Your filter manual should be able to exactly how much to use. You want to purchase “Pool Filter Sand”, not play sand or mason’s sand. This can be obtained from your pool supply store.
