Changing your oil is one of those routine maintenance items that most people can do themselves, but not everyone wants to take on the task. On a Porsche Cayenne, the task is a little more involved than on other cars, because there is a skid plate that needs to be removed, and a cartridge-style oil filter which can be tricky to remove as well. If you take your time however, you can do it at home. Pop the hood and locate the oil dipstick in the engine compartment. Pull out the dipstick and place the hose from the oil extractor onto the dipstick tube. Use the extractor to remove all of the oil in the engine. Disconnect the extractor. Raise up the front of the vehicle using the jack and set it on the jack stands. Make sure that the vehicle is solidly on the stands before crawling underneath it. Use the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket to disconnect the skid plate on the bottom of the engine; set it to the side. Unbolt the center bolt on the oil filter cartridge case using a hex-head key and all
