How Do You Change Management Training And Leadership Training?
Many companies offer or mandate some form of training for its leaders and managers. But how effective is that training? Now more than ever, there is a call for leadership at all levels of the organization. Leadership consists of much more than the boxes that populate the organizational chart. How can you help your company revamp its management training programs? Assemble a small committee of three to five people who are tasked with revitalizing the training program. Ideally, the group should be comprised of the training director, a human resources training specialist, a front-line manager, a middle or upper level manager, and a non-management employee. Enlist the support of a top-level sponsor. The sponsor should have the respect and the ear of the executive committee. Although the sponsor will do little of the ground-level work, he is critical in obtaining the attention of decision-makers, who will assign priority to the initiative and find the time and the budget to implement change.
