Changing oil is important for any vehicle. It doesn’t have to be labor intensive and time consuming. With a few changes to a standard oil change procedure, the oil can be changed quite quickly and efficiently. Two time consuming areas include the draining of the oil, and the need to get completely under the vehicle. By having two drain pans for both the drain plug and filter, they can both be removed at the same time. Get the supplies needed for an oil change. Get the proper oil and filter, tools, two oil drain pans, and stage them next to the vehicle where the oil change will take place. The oil change should take place with the vehicle parked on a flat level surface. Park the vehicle and set the emergency brake. Block the rear wheels and raise the vehicle with a jack and support with jack stands.
