How Do You Change Antifreeze In 2002 S10 Chevy?
The Chevy S10 pickup has been around for many years and the engines remain consistent as far as coolant is concerned. They are made to use Dex-cool, an orange colored coolant that is quite different from the standard yellow-green antifreeze. You should change the coolant yearly on a 2002 S10 that you drive on a regular basis. Frequent change of the coolant keeps the vehicle from overheating, which can lead to serious troubles with the engine. Drive the S10 up onto the ramps and set the parking brake. Open the hood and allow the engine to cool. Open the radiator cap to release the pressure in the radiator. Place the drain pan underneath the drain plug of the radiator. Using the pliers, open the drain plug and allow it to drain. Close the drain plug. Fill the radiator with antifreeze, mixed 50-50 with water. Fill it slowly and allow air bubbles to escape. When the radiator is filled, fill the reservoir.
