This is how to change an Oil Pump for a Jeep Wrangler/YJ 1987-1995. REMOVAL & INSTALLATION All Engines. Hope this is what you need. Drain the oil and remove the oil pan. Remove the oil pump retaining screws and separate the oil pump and gasket from the engine block. Do not disturb the position of the oil pick-up tube and screen assembly in the pump body. If the tube is moved within the pump body, a new assembly must be installed to assure an airtight seal. Installation is the reverse of removal. Torque the short bolts to 10 ft. lbs. (14 Nm) and the long bolts to 17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm).
