An audio CD can be changed to MP3 in a variety of ways through the use of a variety of software programs. Of the many paths you can take when changing an audio CD to MP3, using a free audio converter such as iTunes, Switch or dBpoweramp will yield good results and won’t cost you a penny. Open iTunes. Open iTunes preferences. If using a Macintosh computer, click “iTunes” and select “Preferences.” If using a Windows-based computer, click “Edit” and select “Preferences.” Open “Import Settings.” Select the “MP3 Encoder” from the “Import Using” selector. Click “OK” and exit the iTunes preferences dialogue. Insert an audio CD into your computer. Click “Yes” when asked to import the audio CD. When iTunes has finished importing the audio CD, the songs will appear in your iTunes library. Eject the CD when finished. You have now successfully changed an audio CD to MP3.
