The Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera was manufactured with window regulators that were optionally equipped with electric power motors. These motors can wear out and fail, requiring replacement. Disconnect the power window switches by prying the corner up with a screwdriver, then pulling the wiring harness adapter plug from the switch assembly. Remove the door panel by turning the screw inside the interior door handle in a counterclockwise direction, turning the arm rest bolts counterclockwise and then pulling the panel from the plastic pop rivets.
