Video playback on computers support several types of subtitle files. Oftentimes the subtitle file will be in the .sub format. Users may wish to convert this file to a .srt format, a subtitle format that contains only text and no video information. These files are compatible with DVD and DivX playback. Converting from .sub to .srt requires a free downloadable program. Download and install the Vobsub software (see Resources).
