How Do You Change A Skil Saw Blade?

0

A Skil saw is only good as the blade you are using to cut material. Using a dull blade will not only give you a poor cut, but it can also be dangerous. There is a button on the Skil saw that will lock the blade so that you can remove the retaining bolt. Replacement Skil saw blades are available at Skil tool dealers and home improvement centers. Unplug the Skil saw power cord from the electrical outlet. Locate the wrench for removing the saw blade in the rear storage area of the Skil saw. If you no longer have the original wrench, you can use an appropriate-size open-end wrench to loosen the bolt securing the blade to the Skil saw. Hold the “Lock” button just below the trigger handle and turn the bolt securing the saw blade counterclockwise with the wrench. When the “Lock” button engages, the blade shaft will be in a locked position. Continue to turn the wrench counterclockwise while holding the “Lock” button and remove the bolt from the shaft. Pull the washer off of the blade and shaft
