How Do You Change a Serpentine Belt in a Jeep?
The Jeep Wrangler engine uses a serpentine belt to turn the accessories on the front of the engine. The belt is constructed of nylon-reinforced rubber and runs over the alternator, power-steering pump, water-pump and air-conditioning compressor. It is critically important that the belt follow the correct path over the pulleys or the belt may spin the accessories the wrong direction. The Jeep Wrangler has a sticker under the hood with the belt path printed on it that you can refer to if you are unsure of the belt path.
