Video cards are hardware components in computers that assist the main processor and random access memory (RAM) with performance calculations necessary to render and display complex graphics. Many computers have video processing capability built into the motherboard (called on-board or integrated graphics), but a stand-alone video card with dedicated memory will generally perform better, especially with 3-D games. Turn off your computer and unplug the cables. Open your case with a screwdriver. Remove the left side panel by taking out the screws along the right side of the case as viewed from the back.
