Flat tires happen. Whether you drive through a new construction area and puncture your tire with a nail or hit a rock on the side of the road, at some point you will need to change a flat tire. Be prepared in advance and learn how to change your flat tire so when the inevitable happens, you’re ready to get back on the road as soon as possible. Keep a repair kit with your motorcycle at all times. A standard repair kit from your bike’s manufacturer will normally contain a box cutter or razor blade, spare CO2 cartridge, a tire pressure gauge, a valve stem remover, a spare stem and a plug insertion device. Practice using this kit on an old tire so when the time comes you know exactly what to do. Check the tire for the damage. If you find a nail or other piece of debris lodged into the tire, check the rest of the tire before fixing it to ensure that’s the only damaged place.
