Fortunately, replacing a laptop battery is quick and easy. Purchase a new battery. Refer to your laptop owner’s manual to determine the type of battery you need. Compatible laptop batteries can be purchased from computer parts dealers, the laptop manufacturer, or an online auction. Turn your laptop over and locate the battery compartment. Release the lock/latch and slide out the old battery. Refer to your owner’s manual if necessary. Install the new battery by first aligning its receptor pins with the pins in the battery compartment.
