Whether you are installing a new sink or replacing the drain on an existing one, changing a kitchen sink drain can seem like a daunting task. In reality, this project is one almost anyone can tackle with a minimum of tools and just a little time. Line the bottom of your cabinet with the towel to help protect the surface and position the bucket directly under the “u” shaped pipe. Loosen the nut that connects the drain to the bottom of the sink using the pipe wrench. Turn the “u” upside down to drain off any water. Unscrew the entire pipe from the place where it enters the main drain. This should be a (probably metal) pipe coming through the back side of your cabinet. Using the old pipes as a guide, trim the new pipe assembly so that it will fit between the sink drain and the main drain pipe. Follow the kit’s instructions on how each piece should be assembled (some have removable gasket rings, some do not) but be sure to wrap the threads of every connection with plumbers tape. If you end
