Although many products using HEPA filters advertise that they “never need to be changed,” you should change your HEPA every one to two years, as mold can begin to grow in the HEPA filter itself. No matter what appliance you need to change the HEPA filter in, the process is easy and can be done in a matter of minutes. Unplug the appliance that you will be changing the filter in. Open the filter cover. On most appliances, the location of the HEPA filter will be clearly marked as it is a major selling point of the appliance. If your HEPA filter is not clearly marked, check the manual that came with your appliance to find its location. Rip your paper bag so that you can open it flat. It should be large enough when open to completely cover the HEPA filter.
