How Do You Change A Ford Probe Transmission Mount?
A Ford Probe transmission mount holds the transmission in place and works with the engine mounts to minimize vibration caused by normal engine and transmission operation. The transmission mounts on a Ford probe have one bolt that runs through the center of the mount which connects the engine with the transmission and two mounting bolts. Jack up the front of the Probe using a floor jack. Jack up on the front jack point behind the radiator. Place a jack stand under each of the front pinch welds and then lower the vehicle onto jack stands. Climb under the Probe and support the transmission with the floor jack. Remove the transmission to engine connecting bolt on the transmission mount with a socket wrench. The transmission mount has an “arm” that slides into a bracket on the back of the Probe’s engine. A bolt slides through the center of this “arm” on the transmission mount to secure the two together. This is the bolt you are removing. Remove the two mounting bolts and remove the mount. I
