Get the system evacuated of refrigerant by an automotive air-conditioning repair shop. Use box end wrenches to disconnect the negative battery cable terminal from the battery. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the compressor with the pliers. Remove the drive belt from the compressor pulley by removing tension from the pulley with a breaker bar. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the compressor with the box-end wrenches and remove the bolts from the compressor clutch mounting bracket. Lift the compressor out of the vehicle.
