Bissell deep cleaning machines, also known as steam cleaners, use a brush belt much like a vacuum cleaner. The brush belt connects powers the brush roll, which massages the cleaning solution into your carpet to remove stains. To access the brush belt in your Bissell, you’ll have to remove a few components, including the small belt. Change your brush belt once every 12 months under normal use; change it every 6 months if you use it frequently. Turn the power off and unplug the cord from the wall. Lift the water reservoir from the machine and set it aside. Unscrew the water nozzle from the mount the reservoir sat on. Turn the machine on its side, with the power cord facing the floor.
