How Do You Change A 1St Generation Ipod Shuffle Battery?
Changing the battery in the first generation iPod Shuffle can be difficult. Not only does this version of the iPod has a shell that’s hard to crack without damaging it, the battery is soldered onto the system board. The trick to disassembling the device is to separate the USB connector from the rest of it and push the internal components out of it. You’ll have to work through a lot of glue to do that, but you can get it done and replace your battery. Turn off the iPod Shuffle. Remove the cover from the USB end of the iPod Shuffle. Insert a small flat-head screwdriver or the tip of a small box cutter into the groove around the edge of the USB connector. Gently work your way around the groove until you’ve cut through all the glue. Pull the USB connector out of the iPod Shuffle. A component board will come out with it, so don’t pull it too hard.
