How Do You Change A 1991 Toyota Pickup Starter Solenoid?

0

Toyota pickup trucks are known for running a long time before requiring engine replacement, with many owners using their trucks for several hundred thousand miles. If you have owned your Toyota pickup truck for some time, it may be necessary to change the pickup starter solenoid. The solenoid is attached to your truck’s starter which is located on the passenger’s side at the lower, rear section of the engine body. Open the hood of your Toyota pickup. Disconnect the cable attached to the negative terminal on the battery then disconnect all of the wires from the truck’s starter. Remove the starter from the vehicle by unbolting it from its mounting brackets. After removal, detach the solenoid positive and negative leads with a Phillips head screwdriver then remove the mounting screws securing it to the starter. Attach the new solenoid to the starter by inserting the mounting screws then attaching the positive and negative leads to the starter. Remount the starter in its previous position.
