How Do You Celebrate Three Kings Day?
One of the most important holidays in the Hispanic culture is Three Kings Day, which occurs on January 6. On this holiday, children receive gifts from the three kings, known in Spanish as Los Reyes Magos. Celebrating Three Kings Day is a great way to teach your children about the bible and the kings. Tell your children to make a list of gifts they would like to receive for Three Kings Day. Then have them each fill a shoebox with grass on the evening of January 5. The grass is for the camels to eat when the three kings stop to leave the gifts. Place the children’s wish lists on top of the grass and leave the shoeboxes underneath the children’s beds. Sing a special song with the children before they go to bed on the night before Three Kings Day. Make this singing a tradition so your children can pass the special songs down to their own children in the future. Put the kids to sleep early the night before Three Kings Day. The three kings won’t stop at the house if the children are awake. T
