How Do You Caulk Bath Tub Tile?
Poor or loose caulking on bath tub tile is easily overlooked, but can cause a host of problems when left unchecked. In some cases, water seepage under loose caulking can cause rows of tile to come off. When this happens, the homeowner could be in for a much larger repair bill. Fortunately, loose caulking can easily be replaced around your bath tub tile so you will have little to worry about while soaking your cares away. Start by cleaning the tiled surface well with a cleaner that is noted for removal of mold and mildew. Clean from the top to bottom, taking care to get into areas between tiles and around fixtures. If the area has a heavy buildup of mold or mildew, it may require a second cleaning. Remove any old caulking. This is easy to do with a sharp utility knife held at a 45-degree angle. Make a small slice in one end of the caulk and simply peel the row away. For caulk that is extremely stubborn or difficult to cut with the knife, you may first want to soften it by blowing on it
