How Do You Care For Tree Rose?
A tree rose is one of the five categories of roses and is actually a rose hybrid that is grafted to a tree trunk that is one to four feet high. Suitable for a formal garden design, the tree rose towers above low growing plants and looks majestic in a pot. In bloom, the tree rose resembles a colorful and fragrant lollypop on a stick. Grow in full sun. Apply organic matter followed by mulch to feed the tree rose and to help retain moisture. Water deeply and fertilize three times between spring and fall. Deadhead blooms to encourage new bloom growth. Cut any suckers that may appear on the trunk. Spray, if needed, to control disease. Stake the trunk if the weight of the blooms starts to bend the trunk. Maintain the dome-like shape of the tree rose by pruning branches that grow well outside the canopy.
