How Do You Care For Reusable Menstrual Pads?
Reusable menstrual pads are an eco-friendly and money saving alternative to disposable pads and panty liners. These absorbent and washable pads are made with flannel, terry cloth or thick cotton, with varying thicknesses, that can be worn during any stage of your cycle. Caring for your reusable menstrual pads is a simple process. Soak used pads in a bucket or sink filled with cold water overnight. Squeeze all of the excess water and blood from the reusable menstrual pads once they’ve finished soaking for at least twelve to twenty-four hours. Treat any staining as you would your other clothing items. Scrub the stains gently. Add the pads to your next load of laundry. You can use whichever temperature setting you prefer, to clean them. Dry the pads with your other laundry. Most brands of reusable menstrual pads can be dried on a normal cycle in the dryer or hung on a clothesline.
