How Do You Care For Oriental Stargazer Lilies?
The Oriental Stargazer lily is an eye-catching and dramatic member of the Lilium family and blooms in summer, notably August, in the United States. Like other true lilies, the Oriental Stargazer blooms grow atop a tall, rigid green stem and have narrow strap-like leaves. Stargazers can easily reach 3 feet in height and can grow nearly as wide. They thrive in full sun and require evenly moist but never drenched soil. Plant Stargazer bulbs point side up and root side down in the fall or early spring in moist but well-drained, rich soil in a sunny locale. Mass an odd number of the same bulb in groupings of three or more spaced about 10 inches apart and about 4 inches deep. Cut away old stalks and leaf foliage in late fall or early spring only unless harvesting cut flowers. Cut Stargazers for household display with sharp clean
