Many modern figurines have a matte finish. Matte is a smooth, even surface free of shine or gloss. It’s important to know how to care for fine matte porcelain figurines to avoid damaging them and decreasing their beauty and worth. Use a small can of compressed air to remove dust and debris from the art pieces. Dust the pieces off with a soft-bristle brush, or with a small artist’s paintbrush or makeup brush. Store the figurines in an enclosed curio cabinet. Clean off stains by placing two soft towels in the bottom of a sink filled with warm water and a mild dish-washing detergent.
