How Do You Care For Dry Cracked Feet?
Most of us take our feet for granted. We dress them up in shoes and socks and expect them to do their job. Our failure to give our “tootsies” the tender loving care they need, however, often results in dry, cracked skin. Dry skin, while painful, is not serious and caring for those dry, cracked feet is easy to do. Wash your feet daily by soaking them in warm water and mild soap for 15 minutes, preferably at bedtime. Dry your feet thoroughly. Mix a teaspoon of petroleum jelly with lemon juice and apply it to the cracked areas. File the dry skin off your feet with the help of a pumice or sand stone. Apply therapeutic creams or ointments to the affected areas. Apply cream to your dry, cracked feet at bedtime. Wearing socks will allow for better absorption of the cream into your skin. Use products, such as Shea Butter, that are specially designed to revitalize and moisturize dry, cracked skin. Wear shoes that are the correct size, the proper fit and are comfortable.
