Ceramic stove tops are usually made with a combination of glass and ceramic. It is a very strong material and can withstand quick temperature fluctuations. As far as stoves go, it is one of the easiest to clean and maintain because it is flat. There are no crevices or coils to clean. Regular maintenance will keep your ceramic stove top clean. Cook with heavy pots and pans with flat bottoms. Lightweight pans will rub off on the top. Do not slide the pans across the stove top as you cook. Instead pick them up when you need to move them. Also do not lay foil on the top, as it will leave metallic marks when dragged across the surface. Clean after each use by wiping the surface with a damp paper towel after it has cooled down. For tough stains take a damp paper towel and dip it in baking soda. Scrub the stain on the surface until it is removed. Rinse the top thoroughly.
