How Do You Care For An Auto Window Tint?
Auto window tint usually lasts longest if it is professionally done. However, even the best tint job can be ruined if you mistreat the windows. Tinted auto windows require special cleaning–you should never clean the windows as you would un-tinted glass. Improper care easily results in spots, streaking, scratching or other damage to the tint. Some kinds of tint, especially if you applied it yourself, may even start peeling off if you use the wrong kinds of cleaners. Spray your tinted car windows with either a window cleaner that does not contain ammonia (this damages tint) or a solution of mild soap (hand soap or dish soap) and water. Wash the windows, inside and out, with a soft cloth or sponge. You should clean your windows frequently (at least once a week) to keep them clear of road debris–which could scratch the tint–and pollutants from the air. Rinse the windows with clean water. Dry them with soft towels to prevent water streaks or deposits.
