The weeping mulberry tree, also called Morus alba pendula, grows 4 to 12 feet in height and has a “weeping” canopy of equal width. It is a vigorous tree, tolerant of almost every weather and soil condition. It can grow in USDA zones 4 to 10, which is almost the entire United States, with the exception being those places where temperatures drop below negative 40 degrees F. Plant the weeping mulberry in an area with full sun and well-drained soil. The tree will tolerate pollution, salt spray and soil that is alkaline, acidic and even compacted.
