The key to the best performance on a bodyboard is proper care for the board. Proper care of the board helps it last longer and improves the performance of the board itself. Caring for a bodyboard only takes a few minutes a week and substantially adds to the life of the board. Wash the board with fresh water after every time it’s in the surf. Use a soft rag to wash the board on all sides, corners and edges. It needs to be washed thoroughly. Salt from the seawater damages the bodyboards and increases the wear on the board. Place the board in the shade and allow it to dry. The shade prevents the board from warping and bubbling.
