How Do You Care For A Black Porcelain Cast Iron Sink?
Porcelain cast iron sinks are stain resistant, but black porcelain will show soap residue and mineral deposits (from hard water) more easily than standard white porcelain. Black porcelain, therefore, requires a little extra cleaning and care to keep residue and deposits from detracting from its shine. All porcelain, no matter the color, can chip or scratch–you can keep your black sink clean and free from chips and scratches if you care for it properly. Run the faucet to wet the sink down with warm water, and then wet a clean, non-abrasive sponge. Turn off the faucet and apply a teaspoon of dish detergent to the sponge. Sprinkle ½ teaspoon of baking soda on top of the detergent. Rub the sponge over areas of the sink that have heavy soap scum, mineral deposits or areas that are otherwise heavily soiled.
