How Do You Capture An Angry Or Upset Cat?
• Corner the cat in an area where it cannot hide or escape. • Take the dampened towel and toss it onto the cat. • Quickly scoop up the cat with the towel, and wrap both ends of the towel around the cat like a burrito. It is important to keep the towel tightly wrapped, so that the cat’s claws cannot come free and scratch you. • Proceed to give the cat its medication, shot or trip to the vet. If going to the vet, be sure to have a crate handy. It’s best to the crate standing on end with the door open. You can place the cat inside the crate and quickly shut the door. • Some cats will go inside the carrier on their own if you leave it flat on the floor with the door open, and gently herd them in. There may be less distress and struggling this way, and is more dignified for the cat. You can now safely take the cat to the vet, if needed.
