Canoeing or kayaking Juniper Creek in Northwest Florida is a wonderful day trip. Juniper Creek runs through the Blackwater State Forest north of Milton, and is an easy trip for beginning paddlers. Pack up one vehicle with all your gear. This vehicle will need to accommodate all of the people and gear which will be heading down the creek. If you have several vehicles, this is fine. Leave one car at your take out point. This car will act as your shuttle vehicle when you take out of the creek. Leave this car at Indian Ford Bridge (from Milton, head north on SR 191 approximately 8 miles until you reach Indian Ford Road, turn right (east) on Indian Ford Road; continue east 6 miles to bridge). Drive your packed car to the put in. Take all of your gear and people to your put in point at Red Rock Bridge – from Indian Ford Bridge, head back to SR 191, take a right (north) for approximately 10 miles until you reach SFR 72. Take a right (east) to the bridge (about 5 miles). Paddle Juniper Creek.
