So you have a bed room you want to paint but don’t really know how much paint you need? If you buy too much who knows when or even if you will ever use it? The first step in calculating how much paint you need is to measure the length of the wall you want to paint. The second step is to measure the height of the wall. Now multiply the length times the width and this will give you the square footage of the wall. So if your wall is 10 feet by 10 feet it is 100 square feet. Now all you have to do is repeat steps 1 thru 3 to get the total amount of square footage your are needing to paint. If you need 2 coats of paint multiply your total by 2 A Gallon of paint should cover about 400 square feet.
