How Do You Calculate D Weight Of An Empty Pipe? Plz Explain It With A Derivation?

0

You can calculate the weight of the pipe in two ways: 1- Calculate the cross sectional area of the pipe for outer surface and area of the internal circle, subtract the two areas and multiply with the wall thickness of the pipe that gives you the steel volume , multiply the volume with the steel density which is around 7.8 kg/m^3 that will be the weight. 2- The other method is find the cross section circumference and multiply with the steel thickness to get the steel volume, then weight can be found as above. However there are tables can provide the weight of steel pipes with various diameters and wall thicknesses.
