You’ve decided to build an in ground concrete or Gunite swimming pool. You’ve talked to 3 or more pool construction company salesmen. They’re all telling you their pool is the best. How do you know what is the best and what isn’t for the money? I’ll tell you what to look for so you get your moneys worth. The best salesman always wins. That’s often true and often too bad because you felt he said all the right things, had a great product, provided lots of happy referrals and made you a good deal. Too bad you fell for it. In order to get all the above you’ll need to educate yourself first before buying. Would you think you’ll ever get a bad referral from a salesman? Not likely. A thicker pool shell is better. A thicker bond beam around the top of the pool is critical. There’s a ton of hydrostatic and freezing ground pressures which can damage a pool shell that’s not up to the challenge.
