When taking photos of wildlife a digiscope allows you to get quality photos without having to frighten the animal by getting too close. Digiscoping doesn’t require much other than a digital camera and a field scope. Step 1 Buy a digital camera with at least 4 megapixels. It should have between 3x and 5x optical zoom and at least a 2-inch LCD screen. Step 2 Look for a digital camera that has a video mode. There may be times when you are attempting to take a picture with your digiscope but the bird is flapping his wings too quickly to get a good shot. This is where video mode comes in handy, as you can record the action and look frame by frame for a good picture later on. Step 3 Purchase an accessory and a tripod thread.
