How Do You Buy A Microwave Magnetron?
Microwave magnetrons convert electricity from the wall outlet into heat waves that cook the food. Magnetrons can break down and must be replaced occasionally. They commonly break when the microwave is turned on without food inside. The standing waves arc inside the device and ruin the magnetron, but there are several places online to purchase a new magnetron. Identify your microwave. The model number is typically located on a plate on back. Some brands such as Samsung post the model number on the lower right side of the number pad. Some microwaves place the information on the inside wall or the door frame. Purchase the magnetron that matches your model number. Search a website such as All Appliance Parts (see Additional Resources) to find one that is compatible with your microwave. Look at available magnetrons from another website such as Repair Clinic.
