If you’ve been looking for a feathered friend, try budgies. They are easy to care for, and can live in areas as small as apartments to as big as mansions. • Before buying a budgie, ask yourself: • Do I like animals? • Do I have time to care for it properly? • Can I have pets where I live? • Can I live with a little mess (i.e. feathers, seed hulls . . .)? • Can I tolerate some noise? • If you’ve answered “yes” to all of these, then you’re ready for a budgie! • Take a look at your local pet store or a breeder. However, if you’re feeling sorry for a budgie that is being bullied by it’s cagemates, do not purchase it. It may be carrying a virus or disease that may affect you or other pets.
