How Do You Bury An Electronic Dog Fence?
Fences keep your dog safe and your neighbors happy. But sometimes a traditional wire fence is impractical–perhaps the cost of building one is beyond your budget, local homeowner’s restrictions may prohibit it, or your dog is an escape artist who will climb over, or dig under, it. An electronic dog fence may be the answer to your problem. The fence’s buried wire transmits an electronic signal to a special collar on your dog. If your dog approaches the wire, he receives a warning via the collar; if he tries to cross the wire, he gets a very mild shock. Most dogs learn quickly not to cross the buried wire. Determine the layout of your fence. You can run a single boundary line on three sides of your yard, with your house as the fourth side. Or you can run two boundary wires, one 3 to 8 feet inside the other. This kind of setup works well for dogs who might be bold enough to race across a single wire. The combination of two wires and two shocks is enough to deter most dogs. Contact your lo
