How Do You Bullnose Solid Countertop Surfaces?

0

Do you have a countertop that has the typical right-angle edge? Giving it a bullnose treatment can give it a more custom look. It’s never too late to give it an edge treatment! Sanding the edge of natural stone or man made hard surface (Corian) require multiple passes with different grit sandpaper. Using diamond 50 grit sandpaper, run along the edge of the countertop until you get a desirable shape (typically quarter-round.) Step up to 80 or 120 grit sandpaper and run along the edge. Use smooth “wax on, wax off” up-down movement. Do not run the sander left to right. This will create flat spots. Repeat with higher grit (smoother) sandpaper until you start to see reflections. By the 1000 or 1500 grit the edge should have a smooth finish to the touch and you should start to see some reflections. By the time you are using 3000 grit sandpaper, you should have a reflective finish. Finish off with a polishing pad (this is optional and may not be needed if you already have a shiny finish.) Usi
