How Do You Build Wooden Bunk Beds?
Bunk beds provide two sleeping spots while only using the area of one regular size twin mattress. Wooden bunk beds are often used in children’s rooms, guest rooms and dorm rooms. Their main function is to support two twin mattresses and two people. They are simple in design, and when built with standard construction lumber, they are durable, and reasonably inexpensive. A wooden bunk bed can be constructed in less than two hours. Lay two 80-inch boards on edge, parallel, and 27 inches apart. Place six 27-inch boards between them so they are perpendicular to the 80-inch boards, and spaced 12 inches on center. Screw through the 80-inch boards and into the 27-inch boards. You should have a 30-by-80-inch frame. Repeat this process to build another frame exactly like the first. Set one frame on top of the other so the corners are flush. Position a 72-inch board in each corner so it is standing upright, and perpendicular to the frames. Lift the top frame so it is 20 inches away from the tops
