Chances are if they are tossed in the tool drawer they will get lost or separated. Try this simple tool storage idea for making a custom thin tool case. This example is for Snap Ring pliers and attachments. Outline Tools. Arrange tools on sheet of paper or cardboard. Mark tool outline. Cut outline to make a template. This template will also determine the tool case dimensions. Cut Wood. Cut both top and bottom lumber to the same measurements. This is good project to use that scrap lumber that has been piling up in the workshop. Trace Template. Align the template to the edge of the lumber that will be the bottom and transfer the image to the wood. Flip Template and repeat for second piece of lumber that will be the top. Rout Tool Insert. With a Router and a straight bit, mill out the tool outline to the required depth on the bottom piece. I
