How Do You Build Floating Bar Shelves?
Floating bar shelves are a convenient way to store your dishes, liquor bottles or other bar-related belongings without having unsightly brackets taking up space on your wall and in your field of vision. Floating shelves maximize space and offer a clean, open look to your bar. You can buy ready-made floating shelves with the appropriate hardware, but you can make your own if you want to customize the size and depth of your shelves as well as save some money. Decide on how wide and deep you want your shelves to be. Mark off spots on the wall where you are envisioning placing the shelves, using masking tape. Make sure that the tape you use is cut to the width you desire for your shelves so that you can get a sense of what they will look like on the wall. Use a table saw to cut 1/4-inch thick plywood strips in the dimensions you desire.
