How Do You Build Built-In Book Shelves?
Built-in bookshelves are essentially a bookcase that is installed or built directly into the wall, ceiling and floor. Bookshelves are great for storage and display in a living room, den or study. They can be used to hold not just books but also photo frames or collectibles. Built-in bookshelves can be very costly to have installed, but they can be made inexpensively by anyone with basic carpentry skills. You’ll build a box with hardwood plywood board, add some shelves and install it to the wall. Decide on a location for the bookshelves, and measure the area to determine the measurements (height by width or depth by length) of the shelving unit. Subtract two inches from the height to account for the 2×4 that will be installed on the floor to hold the shelf.
