How Do You Build A Workbench With Fence Posts?
Perhaps you have them around the house, or a neighbor gave them to you, or you found them to be more affordable, but using fence posts as legs for a workbench has its advantages. With little construction skill required, a simple workbench can be built and fence posts attached in no time. Lay out your 1-by-6 inch boards into a rectangle. Be sure the ends of the 4-foot long boards tuck against the sides of the 38-inch long boards. Align the intersection points to be flush. Nail through the 38-inch boards, using two nails at each point, to create the frame of the table. Set the plywood workbench top over the frame. The plywood should be flush on all sides. Nail down through the plywood and into the 1-by-6 inch boards to attach the top. Space the nails every 6 inches. Turn the workbench top over and rest on the top with the frame facing up.
